In the quiet California suburban neighborhood of Lakewood, a community with a low crime rate and no gang affiliations, a seemingly ordinary Long Beach Community College engineering student takes an extraordinary turn when he ventures into selling marijuana from his family's home, drawing a surprising income of $4,000 per week.

Unbeknownst to him, a chance encounter with an attractive fellow student, working as a hostess at a local restaurant, leads to an unexpected twist. She's dating a hardcore gang member from Long Beach, and when she learns of his lucrative enterprise, a sinister plan is set in motion.
